Peaceful Unicorns in the Amazon

Guess who figured out how to queue posts? This girl. So hopefully I can keep up getting through my buffer pretty consistently. 😀

Again, I’ve just got some assorted swatches.

This is three coats of Pretty Serious Peace On Earth, a minty green base with a strong pink shimmer. Holy bananas, this color. I feel like I didn’t capture the pink shimmer super well, but in person this polish is just… something else. It’s a dupe for Yves Saint Laurent’s Peace Green, which is basically impossible to get your hands on. I definitely recommend picking this up, especially since Pretty Serious just launched a US-based store and they’re easier to get now.

Next is OPI Amazon…Amazoff. This has a very slight silver shimmer in a teal base. I actually bought this thinking it was a creme, but that silver shimmer is only visible under the flash of a camera and other very harsh lighting conditions; it just looks like a creme on the nail. This is pretty unique despite being something of a staple OPI shade—teal is a common color, but this color’s got a slightly dusty quality that makes it a little more elegant, I think! It’s opaque in two coats.

Last up I have OPI Hello Hawaii Ya? topped with Starlight Polish Unicorn, a green/blue/purple shifting topper. I really love Unicorn over any shade of purple, and Starlight makes some truly fantastic toppers.

That’s all for now. Come back soon. 😉

Glitter S’more Amulet

Holy moly look at how beautiful this is!

pskhepri1

This is Pretty Serious Khepri’s Amulet, a teal base with an incredibly strong green shimmer. The formula on this was flawless, and it’s opaque in two coats. You can see my nail line in these photos under direct lighting, but it wasn’t visible in person.

This was a lemming of mine for a loooong time, and I’m so pleased with it now that I’ve got it.

Next I have a beautiful pink-toned taupe linear holo, Nine Zero Lacquer S’more Holo. I expect to wear this a lot this fall! Two coats makes it opaque, though the formula is pretty thick and a little tricky to use. A little polish thinner should make this perfect, though.

I topped this off with China Glaze Glitter Me This. It’s a little weird to top a holo with non-holo glitter, but S’more Holo is subdued enough that it still looks okay. I think this is a great combination, personally.

That’s all for now! Later, friendos.

No Correlation

The swatches I do would make a lot more sense if I posted them on time, as a “nails of the day” sort of thing. Unfortunately, I am incredibly lazy. This series of unrelated swatches will have to do for now!

revchrmng1

This first color is Revlon Charming, a gorgeous cool lavender color. I’m consistently impressed with Revlon’s formulas—this one was easy to apply and opaque in two coats. 😀

orlysmoout

Next is a returning color, Orly Smoked Out. Look how stubby my nails were back then!! (And how bad I was at cleanup!) I wanted to show how this dries un-topcoated, as this color has the potential to be a “throw-this-on-before-running-out-the-door” polish, depending on how you like your finishes. It’s opaque in one coat, and dries fairly fast due to its matte finish.

I then threw a coat of Pretty Serious Terrible Lizard on top of that badboy. I think they’re a pretty cool combo! Opaque multichrome flakies were all the rage last year, and we saw plenty of mixes of different colors of those flakies in single polishes. What we didn’t see much of at all was mixes of different shades of iridescent, color-shifting flakies like these. I think they make your nails look like opals. 🙂

And finally, I have Formula X Hera, a stunning rose gold holo flakie. The holographic effect on this is hands-down the most intense I’ve ever seen. As for the finish, it looks like it’s hard to tell; at first glance, I thought this was a dense glitter. When it’s on the nail, this looks more like those holographic silver flakies that Zoya has in their polishes (Storm, Dream, Aurora, Alicia, etc.), except in copper, and these lay completely flat on the nail much like those flakies. I don’t know what exactly is going on here, but it’s beautiful. And it was opaque in just two coats!

What do you guys think? Which of these finishes is your favorite?
