Remember when my nails were magical girls? (Maybe not literally, but still.) I promised that I’d go back and swatch the polish responsible for the transformation, Sinful Colors Let Me Go, over other colors to see how it looks. And now I have!
Sinful Colors Let’s Talk & China Glaze Liquid Leather.
With one coat of Let Me Go.
Sinful Colors Gorgeous & Sinful Colors Midnight Blue.
One coat of Let Me Go.
I wanted to see what it’d look like over warm colors as well. So here I chose Rainbow Honey Calabaza and Rainbow Honey Apple Peel.
I wouldn’t wear this combo for a manicure, but it does make me think that Let Me Go would look pretty cool over a nude. It’s a bit too brushstrokey to wear over something that contrasts with it too much, though.
You guys look how cool this is
Okay okay, so you start off with two coats of Nails Inc. Primrose Park, right?
(This is an exact dupe of OPI You Blue It!.)
Then you add one coat of Sinful Colors Let Me Go.
That’s when the magic happens. Though Let Me Go shifts between green and lavender in the bottle, it turns my midnight blue polish all frosty… which I appreciate, since I don’t have another color even close to this! It reminds me of ILNP My Little Glacier, actually – not a dupe by any means, but similar.
I nicked this a couple of times, which on top of my hasty topcoat application is the only reason for the textural inconsistencies. Sinful Colors polishes tend to bubble on me most of the time, but Let Me Go didn’t give me any such problems.
It also made my polish duochrome! It shifts between icy blue and a bit of a deeper, richer shade. Nothing drastic, but still pretty fun. I imagine that Let Me Go would look closer to the color in the bottle and keep its green color shift if it was layered over a lavender or a periwinkle.
I never wear pink, in clothing or polish—I love the color, but it looks terrible on me! But, I must say that I do adore Sinful Colors Island Coral, a coral/salmon creme.
Island Coral is what most people would call a crelly, I think. It’s a squishy jellyish polish that layers to opacity. I’m wearing three coats here.
The metallic color is Win Cosmetics 85. This is… I want to say two coats? It might have been one. I’m wearing it over one coat of Island Coral. Kinda streaky, but pretty.
