Welcome welcome welcome! You know the drill.
I recently revisited an old favorite, Femme Fatale Falling Embers, which is almost entirely alliteration. Close, but no cigar. I love this color. Berry tones with strong copper shimmer and a sprinkling of holo microglitter? Sign me up. This polish is opaque in two to three coats, and dries gritty, so double up on your topcoat!
Sweet mother of all things good I love this color. This is three coats of Barielle Vanilla Bean. This applied wonderfully and was generally just a joy to work with. I desperately need to pair this with Essie’s Mink Muffs and make a chocolate and vanilla mani!! haha.
Lastly, I have OPI My Private Jet. There are about a billion versions of this, and I’m not sure which version I have. It’s a charcoal base packed with brown shimmer and scattered holo. This was a chameleon, it looked different in every lighting! And it was opaque in one coat, which was nice. 😀
That’s all I’ve got for you today. Come back soon! ❤
Holy pepperoncini, I have so many swatches I haven’t posted. Why do you keep letting your content pile up on you, Aley?
Let’s start with this pretty number. Her name is Kiko 532, and I’ve worn her before (back when my nails were tiny and square-shaped—what!!). She’s a teal base with gold glass fleck shimmer, like those shimmers that Zoya does so well. I said this color reminded me of Zoya’s Remy, but it’s really more similar to Charla. The formula on this was fantastic and it covered in two coats.
I layered Femme Fatale Stand In The Clouds on top, and the result was stunning. This polish is fairly complex, but as far as I can tell, it’s a sheer aqua-colored base with gold shimmer, and small and micro holographic hex glitters. It looks a little “bumpy” because the shimmer covers up the glitter a little, but everything smooths out with topcoat. I felt like a mermaid with this! But then again, I always feel like a mermaid. 😉
Thanks for reading! See ya soon!
Femme Fatale is an Australian indie nail polish brand that I’d been lusting after forever, and was finally able to get my hands on once I realized that I didn’t have to spend a fortune on shipping! Dummy me didn’t realize that they had US-based stockists. Femme Fatale’s polishes are unique and mind- blowing, and I’m gonna show you two today. 😀
This is Femme Fatale Falling Embers, available exclusively through US stockist Beautometry. It’s a purple jelly base brimming with copper shimmer and some sparse holographic particles. Also I’m in love with her, gosh.
I forget if I used two or three coats here, but the base is slightly sheer so you’ll probably need three. Three coats that are totally worth it.
And this is Femme Fatale The Secret of Secrets, a taupe base with gold shimmer, holographic particles and opaque multichrome flakies. I used three coats for full opacity.
I’ve really liked Femme Fatale’s polishes from afar for a long time because of how complex and unique they are, so it’s nice to finally have a few in my hands (including Lantern Wastes which is both beautiful and no longer available—nyeh heh heh). If you’re in Australia, you can get ‘em from Femme Fatale’s website, and if you’re not, you can get them from any of the stockists listed all the way at the bottom of the front page.
